Cisco Jabber Video (MOVI)
Cisco Jabber Video 4.8.12 is the latest upgrade to MOVI. Cisco has rebranded the name from Cisco MOVI to Cisco Jabber Video. The application look and feel is still the same however Cisco has made significant enhancements to the videoconferencing application which include:
1080p Resolution -Cisco Jabber Video now supports sending/receiving video with a resolution of 1080p (limit of 3FPS on content transmition from MOVI software)
Quick Setup - A new Quick Setup dialog will launch on first start-up and guide the user in selecting and testing their camera, microphone, and speakers
Changes to sign-in window - Settings for automatic sign-in have now been moved to the Sign-in Settings dialog (formerly called Advanced Sign-in).
UPDATE (10/28/16): Jabber (MOVI) 4.8.12 will be the final release of the MOVI software client from Cisco systems. Future software features and upgrades will eventually transition to the Cisco Jabber UC (unified communications) client.
UPDATE (9/04/15): Effective September 4, 2015, the sign-in process for all Jabber Video (a.k.a MOVI) end users has changed. As of September 4, all UCSF faculty and staff will be required to sign in to Jabber Video using their Network/Email (e.g. Campus\username) accounts and passwords.
Customers who are using earlier versions of Cisco MOVI should update to Cisco Jabber Video 4.8.12 to take advantage of the enhancements above as well as improved application stability. New customers who would like to request a Jabber Video account can also follow the information below.
JABBER Video Conferencing
Cisco Jabber Video is a desktop video conferencing software application that enables you to use your Windows PC or Macintosh computer to participate in telepresence quality video calls with other Cisco Jabber Video users and various video conference rooms around UCSF.
Cisco Jabber Video is best suited for meetings where it is important to see and hear the person or room you are communicating with. It is also possible to make presentations over video using Cisco Jabber Video. However Cisco Jabber Video is not a webconferencing application (like WebEx, ReadyTalk, GoToMeeting).
Getting Started with Cisco Jabber Video
Getting started with Cisco Jabber Video is a three-step process:
1. Request a Cisco Jabber Video account from the Service Desk. Each Cisco Jabber Video user needs his or her own account. If you wish to request accounts for you and your staff, be sure to list each person as they are listed in the UCSF Global Address Book.
2. Within 3 business days, you should receive an email from JabberVideo@telehealth.ucsf.edu with your account information and instructions for downloading the software client.
3. Download and install the Cisco Jabber Video software from the links in the account information email or from the links below. Your local IT support can assist you with the installation if required or contact the service desk to remote install the application if you do not have admin rights on your machine.

For Macintosh and Non-IT Managed Windows Computers
Cisco Jabber Video for Windows Installer (4.8.12)
*When downloading, certain version of IE will display an error "The Signature of this program is corrupt or invalid" or "The Program is unsafe", users should be able to view the download, right click on the installer and "Run Anyway."
*Open GL installation - Users who receive the prompt "OpenGL version is too old" during Jabber Video installation, please update to the correct driver or driver version for your graphics card in the Windows OS. For more info please click the link: Cisco Open GL installation issue
Cisco Jabber Video for MAC Installer (4.8.12)
* Cisco has fixed functionality relating to MacBook Air and the Mac OS Mavericks video display issue.
*Uninstalling Cisco Movi for Mac - You can download, install and run Cisco Jabber however unlike PC/Windows, the new version will not overwrite Cisco Movi. To uninstall Cisco MOVI from your Mac, go to Application forlder select MOVI and drag it to Trash.
