Integrated Data Repository

Using the IDR

The Integrated Data Repository is available for querying through the Cohort Selection Tool in the MyResearch environment. With the proper Committee on Human Research (CHR) approvals, researchers are able to obtain identified datasets. Researchers work with a UCSF ITS Database Programmer to define the query for the necessary data.  The IDR currently includes a de-identified copy of the UCSF Medical Center APeX demographics, procedures, vital signs, medications, labs, and diagnoses data sets. More data sets are planned, including UCSF School of Dentistry Axium data set and the San Francisco General Hospital Lifetime Clinical Record hospital data set. The IDR will also maintain a HIPAA compliant record of user access and perform automated audits of that access, as well as scan for inappropriate usage of that data. Results of searches will be provided in the MyResearch secure environment.

Additional Features and Functions

The IDR is a multi-year project supporting cohort scanning, hypothesis testing, correlative studies, and retrospective analysis of well-defined populations.

Clinical data that will be incorporated into the IDR include UCare, STOR, APeX, AxiUm (Dentistry) as well as the San Francisco General Hospital Lifetime Clinical Record.

Cost/Pricing

There are no costs associated with querying the IDR through the Cohort Selection Tool in the MyResearch environment. The Clinical Data Research Consultations data extraction service is performed on a consulting basis for the extraction of identified patient data sets and this service is currently complimentary.
