Administrative Listservs

Administrative listservs are grouped into four basic categories:

  • General Population: Authorized users include, but are not limited to, the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, Deans and Assistant Vice Chancellors. Subscription to these listservs is automatic based on predetermined payroll criteria.  It is not possible to manually add an employee to these listservs
    • ALLACAD
      • All active Academic appointees with a valid email address is the Campus Locator System (CLS)
      • Archived from May 2002 (archives are not available online)
    • UCSFAFFILIATES
      • All active Campus affiliates with a valid email address in the CLS
      • Not archived
    • UCSFSTAFF
      • All active Campus employees with a valid email address in the CLS
      • Archived from May 2002 (archives are not available online)
    • UCSFSTAFF-MC
      • All active Medical Center employees with a valid email address in CLS
      • Archived from November 2005 (archives are not available online)
    • UCSFSTUDENTS
      • All active Students via a listserv owned and maintained by Student Academic Affairs
      • This listserv is not archived
  • Administration: Authorized users include, but are not limited to, the Vice Chancellors, Associate and Assistant Vice Chancellors and other administrators as authorized. These individuals may delegate posting access to other campus administrative officers. Subscription to these listservs is automatic based on predetermined criteria and except where noted, it is not possible to manually add an employee to these listservs.
    • CALIST
      • Campus administrator (those listed in AA, BO, FA, PPA and UH roles in campus departmental role charts, plus those who request subscription)
      • Archived on the web from May 2002
    • CALIST-MC
      • Medical Center administrator (those listed in AA, BO, FA, PPA and UH roles in Medical Center departmental role charts, plus those who request subscription)
      • Archived on the web from January 2006
    • HRPOLICY
      • Information for non-represented campus staff employees
      • Archived from June 2002 (archives are not available online)
    • HRPOLICY-MC
      • Information for non-represented Medical Center staff employees
      • This listserv is set up to archive, but no archives exist for this listserv
    • MSLIST
      • Campus managers & supervisors (Employee Relations Codes A, B, C & D)
      • Archived from November 2003 (archives are not available online)
    • MSLIST-MC
      • Medical Center managers & supervisors (Employee Relations Codes A, B, C & D)
      • Archived from April 2006 (archives are not available online)
  • Role-Based: These Listservs are grouped by administrative roles as defined by the role chart associated with each active UCSF department code.  Authorized users include, but are not limited to, the Vice Chancellors, Associate and Assistant Vice Chancellors.  Subscription to these listservs is automatic, and based solely on assignment to the specific role.  It is not possible to manually add an employee to these listservs.
  • Building/Site:  These Listservs are grouped by the primary work site for each employee based on the building code entered into that employee's Campus Locator System (CLS) record.  Authorized users include, but are not limited to, the Senior Vice Chancellor's Office, UCSF Police and Capital Programs and Facilities Management administration.  Subscription to these listservs is automatic, and based solely on building code.  It is not possible to manually add an employee to these listservs.
