WebEx is a multi-functional Video/Audio Conference web application. It allows you to meet with anyone, anywhere, in real time from your office or home, as long as you have Internet access on your computer or have the WebEx mobile app installed for your iPhone, iPad, Android, or Blackberry. WebEx Meeting Center for Windows and Mac feature HD video and online chat, as well as all of the tools you need to share presentations and desktop applications, write on online whiteboards, and make annotations.

Getting Started

  • Go to http://webmeeting.ucsf.edu
  • Log in with your email address (first.last@ucsf.edu) and your network password
  • Go to the “Downloads” section and download the “Productivity Tools” for WebEx. The ProductivityTool integrates WebEx with your Outlook email and adds a “WebEx” icon in your Outlook tools. This enables you to facilitate the scheduling of WebEx Meetings from Outlook, just as you would a standard Outlook meeting. NOTE:  This Outlook feature is available for Windows Users Only, Mac users schedule WebEx meetings from the http://webmeeting.ucsf.edu web page.
  • Now you can start using start using WebEx for scheduled meetings, or ad-hoc “Meet Now” meetings.
  • Meeting invites that are created using the “Add WebEx Meeting” or “Meet Now” icon in Outlook (or invites created from the Web Page) will include a link to the WebEx meeting in the Outlook Meeting Invite. Meeting attendees click the link to join the WebEx Meeting.
  • WebEx meeting attendees can be anyone with a PC, an internet connection, or a phone. This includes UCSF and non-UCSF resources.
  • WebEx provides an Audio Conference Bridge, Desktop Content Sharing, Chat and other collaboration tools to enhance meeting productivity.
