Mac users - do not upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion

Apple will soon release its new OS X Mountain Lion operating system. Although the upgrade promises to deliver great new features, it has not yet been fully vetted for compatibility with the UCSF computing environment. Those who try to install Mountain Lion may experience significant problems, especially with encrypted computers.

For this reason, please do not upgrade to OSX Mountain Lion until we confirm that it is compatible with encryption, anti-virus, VPN, backup, remote control, Office, and other software products used at UCSF.

If you have any questions please work with your departmental IT service provider or contact the IT Service Desk at: [email protected] or (415) 514-4100.
