Updating iOS and Andriod Username Field

Updating your username on your mobile device (phones/tablets) will make your email migration to the cloud nearly transparent on these devices. We ask that you update your username at your earliest opportunity in advance of your email migration.


How to update your iOS device (iPhone/iPad)

How to update your Android device


For iOS (iPhones and iPads):

To update your username on an iOS device, follow the instructions below.


  1. Start from the Home page

  1. Tap on Settings
  2. Scroll down until you see "Mail" and click on it


  1. Select "Accounts"


  1. Select "Exchange"


  1. Click on "Account" (your UCSF email account)


  1. Change your Username to your primary email address (e.g. [email protected]) as shown below. Do not change anything else.


  1. Click "Done"


For Android OS:

To update your username on an Android device, follow the instructions below.

There are numerous flavors of Android OS, but the central idea should be somewhat consistent:

  1. Start from the Home page
  2. Go to your Settings
  3. Open your email configuration
  4. Update your Username field to use your primary email address (e.g. [email protected]).
  • NOTE: Some versions of Android OS do not allow you to edit an existing profile. If you cannot edit your username, you will have to delete and add your email profile back. Click here for instructions.

  1. Click the Save or Done button.
