Scheduled Maintenance: UCSF Data Center Automatic Transfer Switch Test, 7:00 - 8:00 am, Third Wednesday of Every Month

Status Type

Scheduled Maintenance

Date and Time

Wednesday, November 21, 2012 - 07:00 to 08:00

To comply with the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) Code 110, Facilities Management will conduct monthly ATS (automatic transfer switch) tests. These tests ensure that the fire life safety and critical systems will function properly when truly needed. The ATS test schedule for the UCSF Data Center will be the third Wednesday of every month.

All emergency power outlets and emergency lighting will be affected by a momentary interruption (approximately one half-second) at the beginning and the conclusion of the thirty minute ATS test, as power is transferred back and forth. This will affect the entire building, including the data center and any equipment currently on e-power outlets. Data should be backed up and work saved prior to the ATS test. Please note: regular power outlets throughout the building and normal lighting will not be affected by the ATS testing program.
