Scheduled Maintenance: Campus Wireless Networks - Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building#2316
Date and Time
Tuesday, February 11, 2014 - 18:30 to Wednesday, February 12, 2014 - 00:30
On Tuesday, 2/11/2014, at 8:30pm, ITS Network Security & Architecture will migrate all Wireless Access Points (WAPs) in the Helen Diller Building to a new, more robust wireless controller on the Mission Bay Campus. This is one piece to a re-architecting initiative in the wireless environment to reduce costs to UCSF, provide an Enterprise solution with redundancy, and improve service to our end users.
Each individual WAP in the Rock Hall Building will be down approx. 2-3 minutes intermittently during the change window. The total time to do this migration of all the WAPs will be approximately 3 hour. Impact as an end user connected to the wireless network • UCSFwpa or UCSFguest, during the migration of the WAPs may experience a degradation of service or loss of connectivity for the 2-3 minutes migration. • Changing from Public IP space to Private IP space o If connecting wireless to a server in the cloud may need to work with the cloud firewall administrator to allow new IP address range. Please contact Sue Asay and we will work with you. No impact to the wired network.
