Status Type
Scheduled Maintenance
Date and Time
Saturday, December 17, 2016 - 09:00 to 18:00
Reason
Sunquest Instrument Manager and Application Manager Servers will be moving to Quincy Data Center in Washington.
Impact
Sunquest Instrument Manager (SIM) Server: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The Clinical Labs internal computer systems will be unavailable requiring significantly increased dependence on manual processes to perform and result tests.
- Orders can still be placed in APeX.
- Results, including interfaced POCT platforms (Accu-Chek Inform II, i-STAT and ABL90), will NOT transmit to APeX during the downtime.
- Collection Manager will be available/No impact.
- Laboratory staff will report all STAT results (including blood gases) by phone/FAX during the downtime.
- Tests performed during the downtime will transmit to APeX once the server comes back online. If you do not see the results appear in APeX, try checking again closer to the end of the downtime window.
Sunquest Application Manager (SAM) Server: 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Interfaces between the Clinical Labs’ LIS (Sunquest) and APeX will be unavailable again requiring significantly increased dependence on manual processes to perform and result tests.
- During this downtime, please be aware that all specimens MUST be accompanied by an APeX paper requisition.

Important Additional Information:
- Blood bank specimens need to be labeled with date, time, and signature of collector.
- Please limit testing to those results needed for immediate clinical care.
- Because of the increased dependence on manual processes, turnaround times may be delayed.
- If results are needed for urgent patient care decisions, please call the Clinical Laboratories at 353-1667. Please, DO NOT call the individual laboratory sections as that inhibits staff from performing patient testing.
