Scheduled Maintenance:Windows Servers
Date and Time
As part of the Security 2.0 projects to bring systems on the UCSF network up to minimum security standards, UCSF IT will be installing a Syslog-NG centralized logging and monitoring agent on all Windows and Linux servers.
The Windows agent will send copies of all Application, Security and System logs to UCSF Syslog-NG servers for retention and analysis. The Linux agent will send logs of all sudo activity and commands, or Linux server admins can choose to send these logs directly to the Syslog-NG server.
Additional Info: FAQs about Syslog-NG can be found at https://tiny.ucsf.edu/syslogng (MyAccess login required). For more information about all of the Security 2.0 projects see https://security.ucsf.edu.
