macOS Sequoia Not Ready for UCSF Business Use
-
Author: David Ng
- Date:
Apple released its newest version of macOS, called Sequoia (version 15), on Monday, September 16, 2024. UCSF IT advises not to upgrade to macOS Sequoia on computers used for UCSF business until it has been fully tested for compatibility with UCSF systems and standard security software.
Please *DO NOT* upgrade to macOS Sequoia until further notice even if you see that option available in the Software Update preference. The macOS Sequoia installer is currently blocked from running on all enterprise-managed Macs at UCSF to help prevent computer performance problems caused by any UCSF software that isn't officially compatible with the new OS version yet.
With Apple’s release of macOS Sequoia today, UCSF IT will start phasing out support of macOS Monterey as Apple discontinues security maintenance of macOS Monterey.
