  • Audience: Affiliate, Faculty, Non-UCSF, Staff, Student, Technical Partner, Volunteer

Who is this for?

This is for UCSF site owners, online content contributors and developers. All skill levels are welcome. There is something for everyone to learn at "Build Your Accessibility (A11Y) Testing Toolkit."

Beginners are invited to observe to get an introduction. More intermediate site owners may wish to follow along and perform manual accessibility checks with their own UCSF site.

What happens?

View live demonstrations of various manual accessibility checks to perform on websites. All skill levels are welcome.

Build your accessibility (A11Y) testing toolkit with a set of manual tests to add to automated testing. Manual checks are considered the second tier of your accessibility testing approach after automated testing with tools like Siteimprove or WAVE.

This session will feature screen reader and keyboard testing in addition to other tools and techniques.

The Center for Accessible Technology, a local Bay-area vendor, is facilitating the instruction. The instructors wanted to provide this Accessibility Testing Checklist and Resources in advance.

Funds for this series are provided by the Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) Value Improvement (VI) Program for the Accessibility Available to all UCSF Website Visitors project.
