Description
MathType is available on the Microsoft Word toolbar. Open MathType from the toolbar, type in the equation that you need for your document, and then close MathType; your equation will be inserted into your document, with the right font and format settings. Edit your equation as many times as you need just by clicking on it and MathType will open automatically.
How to Get MathType for Word
Look for MathType in Microsoft's Add-In Store under Admin Managed. You can find the store by going to “Insert” in the menu of Word 2016 and selecting the downward arrow next to Add-Ins. From the Add-Ins menu, select the Get Add-ins link and then select Admin Managed. From the list of available Add-Ins, click the icon for MathType and the Add button to install the Add-In. After the MathType Add-in has been installed, it can be accessed by clicking the MathType icon on the Home menu.

Requirements and Limitations
To access Office 365 you need a web browser (Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge are recommended for the best experience) and a UCSF email address.
