You may have noticed some peculiar notifications, like the one below, in your inbox. While these may appear suspicious in nature, they originate from Microsoft’s Viva Engage, formerly known as Yammer.

After careful consideration and evaluation, we have decided to decommission Viva Engage in Q1 to align our technology stack with our evolving needs and provide a more streamlined and secure collaboration experience for our employees. We recommend using Teams for sharing and chatting within a department or team.

The decision to decommission Viva Engage was driven by several factors, including lack of adoption and the need to address security concerns. Despite initial enthusiasm for Viva Engage, adoption has been lower than anticipated, and it has not met the expectations of our employees.

Current Viva Engage users will be notified directly of the planned decommission date. In the meantime, if you are receiving Viva Engage email notifications, you can simply delete them.
