Microsoft 365: Power Automate
How to Request Access
Everyone with an active UCSF email address has access to create automations within the UCSF Microsoft 365 Tenant.
Description
Power Automate is a service that helps you create automated workflows between your favorite apps and services to synchronize files, get notifications, collect data, and more. Through the use of Power Automate, you can build scalable, time-saving workflow automations that can tackle all of your individual jobs, enabling you to complete a large number of repetitive tasks in a short amount of time.
Benefits
- Automate quickly and more securely - Use low-code, drag-and-drop tools and hundreds of pre-built connectors that automate repetitive tasks with ease.
- Improved efficiency and productivity - Remove the clunky and pain-staking manual processes your team does on a daily basis and accelerate more high-level business processes between business units, team members, and everyone within your organization.
- Automate Anytime, Anywhere - Expand your automation capabilities across desktop, web, and mobile with Power Automate apps.
Licensing
There are two types of licenses for Power Automate. The first is included within a UCSF user's Microsoft 365 license and allows flows to interact with MS365 applications.
Premium licenses for Power Automate to leverage advanced features (e.g. Connectors, sharing of flows etc.) can be purchased at an additional cost. The current license cost for Power Automate is still being determined. If you would like to purchase a Power Automate license, please contact [email protected] for more information.
NOTE: Do not select the Trial button in Power Automate as it will render your basic license unusable and will remove the ability to create flows within the MS365 tenant.
Support
UCSF IT offers limited support for questions regarding flows or issues with the application. Simply submit a ticket via our Employee Self-Service Portal.
NOTE: The Collaboration Tools team will provide limited support for Power Automate and will not be able to assist with the creation or testing of automations created within Power Automate.
Training
Power Automate is a platform designed to reduce the number of repetitive steps or tasks that you or your colleagues encounter every day. Through the process of automation, it is possible to increase efficiency as well as allow you to focus on the tasks that provide the most value to the enterprise. Learn more about Power Automate.
