macOS Golden Gate now supported at UCSF

UCSF IT now officially supports macOS Golden Gate (27.x) as of Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, after verifying compatibility with standard UCSF security tools. macOS Tahoe (26.x) and macOS Sequoia (15.x) are also supported macOS versions at UCSF.

Mac users may now upgrade to macOS Golden Gate if their required software is compatible. However, not all productivity applications used at UCSF are fully compatible with Golden Gate.

Before upgrading, users should check with their department's IT liaison to ensure all required productivity applications are compatible with the latest macOS version. For further assistance, please submit a Service Desk ticket.

macOS Sonoma (14.x) and older versions have been discontinued and no longer meet UCSF’s minimum security standards.
