SSL / TLS Certificates
SSL (secure socket layer protocol), currently using TLS 1.2 or greater encryption, is used to secure transmissions between servers and clients. Example: Visiting a https address from Google Chrome or Safari.SSL / TLS certificates allow clients to verify a server's authenticity against known Certificate Authorities before establishing an encrypted connection. This helps determine if the server is who they say they are.

UCSF's wireless service provides an alternative to traditional wired connectivity.Supporting most wireless devices using 802.11a/b/g/n, it is the recommended method of network access at most locations, and it is widely available in clinical, research and administrative buildings.Guest access is also provided for visitors and non-UCSF business communications.

Information Technology's electronic mailing lists (listservs) for the UCSF community to support and promote the mission of the University: teaching, research, patient care, and community service.Listserv owners must be UCSF faculty, staff, or learners. Everyone with a USCF email address has access to Smartsheet via Myaccess.ucsf.edu. However, a separate license will need to be purchased to create sheets and own sheets or to access premium features.Smartsheet is a UCSF-supported, cloud-based collaborative project and task management tool that is accessible via MyAccess.No restricted data (e.g., PCI, PHI, PII, FERPA) should be stored in Smartsheet.
