What happens?
Each month we demonstrate the user journey of a specific featured UCSF website. For this specific forum, we feature UCSF public-facing sites.
These sessions focus on Assistive Technology (AT) users and are twofold:
- to create awareness of AT users and their experiences and,
- to provide a discovery opportunity to barriers to content and give UCSF website owners insight into how well their site is working for users with disabilities.
We host a demonstration of a featured UCSF website experienced by a native screen reader user. You'll hear the screen reader AT read aloud as the user performs tasks like searching and viewing search results, filling out a form, or navigating the site. You may get the opportunity to see online barriers encountered.
To inquire about featuring your website at a future meeting or for a list of vendors that provide these types of accessibility review services, contact Jill Wolters, Digital Accessibility Program Manager.
Don't have time to attend? Get a quick introduction to AT in our video. Gain awareness of why to make online content accessible to all users. Not familiar with screen reader assistive technology? Watch our 5-minute screen reader demo on the UCSF Testing for Digital Accessibility page under the heading Testing with assistive technology (AT).
