Project Overview

Microsoft has announced that SharePoint 2010 will soon no longer be supported by the vendor. This means no more security updates or patches, and the vendor can no longer be engaged to resolve operational/ support related issues as they occur.

Last year, UCSF IT migrated the SharePoint 2010 servers   for Campus and School of Medicine (SOM) to SharePoint Online . We are migrating the UCSF Medical Center SharePoint 2010 servers to SharePoint Online too.

Timeline

We have engaged the vendor, AdaptivEdge, to complete the migration. We are currently examining the existing SharePoint sites and their content. Once completed, we will publish a high-level timeline to this page when it is available.

In broad strokes, the current plan is:

  1. Complete a baseline migration of all SharePoint sites on the system.
  2. Perform any necessary remediation to the migrated content.
  3. Engage site owners for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  4. Finish with a cut-over migration of any content created after.
