What's Happening
UCSF IT has verified compatibility with standard UCSF security tools on macOS Tahoe (26.x) and will now officially support this new OS version in addition to macOS Sequoia (15.x) and macOS Sonoma (14.x) as of Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
macOS Ventura (13.x) and older versions have been discontinued and no longer meet UCSF's minimum security standards. Click here for more information, including guidance on how to upgrade your Mac to a newer OS version.

The following Mac computer models support macOS Tahoe (26.x):
- MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- MacBook Pro with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
- MacBook Pro (13‑inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports)
- iMac (2020 and later)
- Mac mini (2020 and later)
- Mac Studio (2022 and later)
- Mac Pro (2019 and later)
