UCSF provides high-quality security services, using encrypted hardware accessible only via VPN from UCSF and a hacking-attempt detection system to block thousands of suspicious web sessions each month.

What do you need to know?As of December 2024, IT Web Services is scheduling all new site requests for March 2025. This is a change from the previous as-needed request and approval process.Why is there a change?We're making mandatory platform upgrades to our UCSF Drupal platforms. The migration from the older version to the most recent ensures that our websites remain safe, secure, and high performing.
Upgrade to Windows 11
Starting in November 2024, IT will begin upgrading all ITFS-managed Windows computers to Windows 11. This upgrade takes 30-60 minutes of computer downtime and will provide optimized performance and enhanced security. Users have the option to upgrade their workstations as a self-service installation, using the steps below at a time that is convenient for them. Additional details on how to upgrade and what’s changing are listed below.
