Box Sync
Overview Box Sync is an application that lets you access folders and content offline. All synced folders are stored locally on the hard drive as well as in Box. Box Sync is great for streamlining workflows, but it does consume local storage. For this reason, you should sync only the folders and content you work with on a daily basis.

Clean Up Your Personal (BYOD) Computer When Leaving UCSF
Overview Important: The only way to ensure that ALL UCSF data has been removed is to securely reformat (ERASE) your hard drive and any devices that contain storage (e.g., USB thumb drives, external hard drives, smartphones, tablets). This is not the same as simply deleting files or performing a "factory reset." Please contact your computer vendor for support. If you cannot do this, use the instructions below to ensure you remove all UCSF information, applications and tools.

Box: CipherCloud (.ccsecure) Encryption
Overview Secure Box allows UCSF Box users to store restricted data while protecting UCSF and our patients, staff and students from data loss. We launched CipherCloud on Monday, October 3, 2016. In November 2016 we began scanning files that were already on Box. Note: We are only scanning for UCSF PHI. We are not scanning multimedia formats (e.g., image, video, audio files, scanned PDFs) or files over 400MB. What is Secure Box? With the implementation of CipherCloud, UCSF Box users will see the following changes.
