Standards, Practices, and Artifacts Introduction
At UCSF, project management standards exist to ensure that technology projects are delivered consistently, strategically, and efficiently across the enterprise.
Initiating
Project initiation defines goals, scope, stakeholders, risks, and resources to align expectations and secure approval before detailed planning begins.
Executing
Project execution is where project plans are put into action and deliverables are produced. The project manager is responsible for coordinating resources and activities to ensure the project progress.
Monitoring and Controlling
Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, budget, and quality goals; manage risks, issues, and changes; and take corrective actions to keep delivery on track.
Project Closure
Project closure is a crucial phase that ensures everything is properly wrapped up and lessons are captured for future success.
Project Management Tools
UCSF supports several project management platforms, each serving a distinct purpose within the project lifecycle. See below for information on each tool.
