The legacy version of Outlook for Mac will be ending at the end of October 2025 as Microsoft seeks to provide users with a feature-rich and secure email experience for Macintosh users using Microsoft Outlook on their computers. Prior to the upcoming October change, current legacy Outlook for Mac users are encouraged to make the switch today to use the new features and enhancements available within new Outlook for Mac.
NOTE: This change will not impact users of Outlook on Windows computers.
What does this change mean for users?
This change will not remove access to Microsoft Outlook within the application for Mac users as Microsoft is enhancing their email system architecture to modern technology designed for better performance, security, and reliability.
With this change, there will not be a loss of features within the Outlook desktop application for Macs after the user makes the switch. In fact, the New version of Outlook for Macs will provide new features ranging from improved searching within Outlook to the My Day task management feature among many other enhancements.
