Microsoft has implemented changes to Copilot Chat (login version), which has resulted in existing users losing access to the service. We are currently investigating the issue in collaboration with Microsoft and IT Security. Please note that Copilot Chat (non-login version) is only compatible with P1 data.

Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN enables UCSF to provide secure connections to the UCSF network regardless of where the user is when connecting. Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN provides the ability to keep you, your data, and UCSF safe when you are connecting to the UCSF network remotely. Since a locally installed VPN client simplifies access when you are not on campus, it is a good idea to make it your primary choice when connecting remotely.

Power BI is a data visualization tool that leverages connections between different applications (such as an Excel spreadsheet), cloud-based or on-premise data resources. Power BI affords users the ability to connect their data resources and then create data visualizations to share data with stakeholders or assist with the decision-making process within their respective departments.

After a 2017 security assessment showed that we still had some way to go, Chancellor Hawgood instructed us to “move purposefully” on a suite of security initiatives, including the deployment of Network Access Control (NAC).
