How to Request Access

Everyone with an active UCSF email address has access to the web version of Microsoft 365 (office.ucsf.edu) applications but premium license is required for the desktop and mobile applications.

NOTE: You must be on VPN to use the desktop client for Microsoft Teams

Description

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration app that helps your team stay organized and have conversations—all in one place.

NOTE: Saint Francis' and St. Mary Hospital and clinic employees will not have access to the desktop version of Microsoft Teams.

NOTE: Each Microsoft 365 application has a different sign-in frequency, the following table highlights the sign-in frequency setting for each application and client. Learn more about Microsoft 365 Idle Session Times.

Benefits

  • Teams - Find channels to belong to or create your own. Inside channels you can hold on-the-spot Zoom meetings, have conversations, and share files.
  • Meetings - See everything you’ve got lined up for the day or week. Or, schedule a Zoom meeting. This calendar syncs automatically with your Outlook calendar.
  • Activity - Catch up on all your unread messages, @mentions, replies, and more.

Integrations

Microsoft Teams connects with many of the applications that you use everyday. If there is a connector, add-in or integration that you would like to be added to Microsoft Teams, please submit a request via ServiceNow. Learn more about Office 365 Enhancement Requests.

  • GitHub - Work better in GitHub with real-time updates, actionable conversations, all from within Microsoft Teams
  • Webhooks - Webhooks help to connect web services to channels and teams in Microsoft Teams.
  • RSS Feed - RSS is a popular web syndication format used to publish frequently updated content into Microsoft Teams
