Canva is an application available for purchase by UCSF staff for using in their role within the UCSF enterprise. When purchasing a Canva license, its price is prorated for the fiscal year depending on when the license is purchased.

Canva purchasing and licensing process

The annual cost of a Canva license is $115 per user and is prorated as follows:

  • When purchased October 1 or earlier, a Canva license is $115 for remainder of FY26
  • When purchased January 1 to April 1, a Canva license is $86.25 for remainder of FY26
  • When purchased April 1 or later, a Canva license is $57.50 for remainder of FY26

NOTE: Canva should not be purchased for UCSF resource accounts as these email accounts cannot authenticate to Canva. Departments should purchase individual accounts to collaborate on projects in Canva.

How to order Canva

Submit a Canva Account Request Form with your chartstring or speedtype and the name(s) to receive your Canva license(s). If you don't know your department chartstring or speedtype, please ask your manager, whom you should likely engage anyway per your department's process for approving purchases. Each department will maintain control of their purchased Canva licenses which can be re-assigned to other staff members as desired. Once you have ordered Canva, and received your invite, you will be able to sign into Canva. Learn more about accessing Canva as a non-learner user.

NOTE: Canva is free for learners. Review Getting Started with Canva (for Learners).
