How to Request Access
Everyone with an active UCSF email address has access to the web version of Microsoft 365 (office.ucsf.edu) applications but premium license is required for the desktop and mobile applications.
NOTE: You do not need to be on VPN to use the Microsoft OneNote desktop application
Description
Microsoft OneNote assists you with taking organized notes that can be shared with other OneNote users.
NOTE: Each Microsoft 365 application has a different sign-in frequency, the following table highlights the sign-in frequency setting for each application and client. Learn more about Microsoft 365 Idle Session Times.
Benefits
- Collaboration - Secure real-time collaboration with other Microsoft 365 OneNote users. Notebook history keeps track of changes and can restore file versions.
- Organization- Ability to organize ideas into pages, sections, and notebooks.
- Input options - OneNote supports rich text, tables, images, audio and other capture methods from multiple input devices, including touch.
- Integration - Integration with select third party apps and full integration with Microsoft 365 apps, including sending notes through Outlook

Requirements and Limitations
To access Microsoft 365, you will need a web browser (Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge are recommended for the best experience) and a UCSF email address.
