Setting up DKIM authentication
The process to setup DKIM authentication will vary slightly depending on the vendor you are using.
In general, the steps are:
- Logging into your external email vendor account.
- Generate a DKIM key (see links to specific vendors listed below).
- Select the self-authentication option (if prompted).
- Enter ucsf.edu for the domain name.
- Open a ticket.
- In the ticket state that you are setting up DKIM authentication.
- If you have a custom rule reference, please include it in your ticket.
- Include the public DKIM key provided by your email vendor.
- Submit your ticket to the email messaging team.
- In the ticket state that you are setting up DKIM authentication.
- The email messaging team will work with the networking team to add your public DKIM key to the UCSF Domain Name System (DNS)

External email vendors not supported:
- Mailchimp- their handling of DKIM authentication does not provide a sufficient level of security.

Avoid the process of setting up DKIM authentication completely by using the following mass mailing options:
