All required UCSF Security Software for Macs are automatically installed on all UCSF-issued Macs and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) Macs that enroll in UCSF’s Jamf Pro. Macs that are exempt from UCSF’s Jamf enrollment must manually download and run the software installers from this page and for anti-virus and EDR software, you must open a request to IT with your computer's serial number to have standalone installers shared to your UCSF Box account.
Jamf Pro is UCSF's official device management service that enforces and validates device encryption and standard security software configuration for all Macs used for UCSF business, regardless of ownership.

The latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) v14.3 RU9 is available through Jamf enrollment. After installing and signing in to the Jamf Self Service.app, search for "Symantec" to install SEP.

MacOS 14.x (Sonoma) and older versions no longer receive regular security updates as they are no longer supported by Apple. Please upgrade to a supported version of macOS as soon as possible.
CrowdStrike Falcon replaces Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) and Trellix FireEye and serves to satisfy antivirus software (AV) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) requirements by providing a consolidated security solution that uses fewer resources, resulting in improved system performance and faster cyberattack containment with less disruption to your work. Not available for BYOD at this time. For BYOD, continue to use SEP and Trellix FireEye until further notice.
